Sweet 16

16 months of hearing customers comment on and want to buy the hanging birds that I made as a store decoration before I opened, I FINALLY have the first batch done for sale! When I made the original birds, I used scrap fabric that I had laying around and that was too small to use for anything else really. So when I started making them for real, I knew that I needed to find a source of fabric that was more easily attainable but I still wanted to keep the home-spun and recycled feeling. Enter Goodwill! The birds are all made from shirts that I (and my lovely grandma) have scoured local thrift shops to get. Trust when I say that most of these shirts are much better off as birds and not as an actual garment! After a run through the washing machine, they’re ready to get cut out to begin their new lives as cute room decorations! I think they’re much happier this way!
